Has anyone else seen this? Its one of the top 5 movies of all time, and yet like hardly any of my friends have seen it... Go figure...

I started watching it, but got bored after about 45 minutes and stopped. I guess I have bad taste, it is #1 on imdb and rotten tomatoes.

I watched the rest of the movie, and it definately gets more interesting, but I still don't think it was the best ever.

Depends on where you look. It is very subjective. I mean you can say for sure if a movie is great or horrible, but it is a matter of opinion what the best it.

According to IMDB (this is by user rating, hundreds of thousands of people rated each movie) it's:
2. The Shawshank Redemption (I really like this one two, more than godfather)
3. The Godfather: Part II
4. Buono, il brutto, il cattivo, Il (spaghetti western from the 60s, never seen it)
5. Pulp Fiction (really awesome movie, one of my favorites. many people say that it STARTED the neo noir ganre)
Strangely, shawshank and pulp fiction are both from 1994.

My top five movies off the top of my head:
1. The Matrix
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Sin City
4. The Silence of the Lambs
5. The Shining

Did you watch The Godfather from start to finish? And yeah, I figured Shawshank would be up there. Hmmm, I thought it would be Godfather Part 1...

I just watched godfather 2, liked it more than the first. It had a more interesting plot and the acting drew me in more.
